How Do I Get A Job as A Commercial Pilot After Completing 12th-Grade Science?

Are you considering a career as a commercial pilot? If so, this article will be pretty beneficial to you! Are you concerned about the hefty training costs associated with becoming a Commercial Pilot? If you are from India, you can get a commercial pilot licence for a very reasonable price!

Education Requirements for Joining CPL Training Programs

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is required to work as a commercial pilot (Commercial Pilot Licence). This licence is offered after a candidate has finished a training programme recognized by the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA in the case of India).

However, to enrol in the CPL training programme, an applicant must complete specific educational criteria. They are here-

* The candidate must have completed a 10+2 Science stream with Physics and Mathematics as the primary subjects (age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years when the course starts).

* Students from non-science streams can use NIOS to complete the needed subjects. The criteria mentioned above can be met with NIOS education. Non-science stream students may pursue the required topics as private candidates from their individual state boards in addition to NIOS!

* A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is necessary (this may vary from Institute to Institute).

What is the Process to Become a Successful Commercial Pilot After 12th Science?

If you have completed 12th Science and meet the educational and medical requirements, you may enrol in a CPL training programme. You can contact private commercial pilot training institutes, fill out applications, and get started.

Most institutes require a candidate to pass a Pilot Aptitude Test to be considered for admission. The aptitude test is a three-part process that includes a written exam, an interview, and an aptitude test.

The written exam covers topics such as mathematics, geography, general knowledge, and English skills, among others. After that, there will be an interview.

Candidates who pass the first two rounds will be invited to the third level, the Pilot Aptitude Test. A medical examination is performed after the last step. Finally, a merit list is compiled based on candidates’ performance in each stage of the selection process, as well as their medical examination results. Deserving individuals will be chosen and educated to become Commercial Pilots based on their merit!

Students who have never flown before are offered Ab initio CPL training once they have been selected for CPL training. The duration of the curriculum varies from one institute to the next. It could last anywhere from 15 to 18 months on average. The majority of flying schools provide both ground and flight training. Candidates are also offered simulator training.

To summarise, obtaining a CPL is only the beginning of the process! You must be willing to maintain a continual learning process!
